David, the balladeer OR David, the rocker?

It has been an amazing season, this American Idol ’08.  It was a great final with both of them giving it their best. (I was supporting David Cook)

w00t!! David Cook won. He was awesome. Thank you for voting for him.(as I can’t, living here in India) Here’s the video of the winning song : Time Of My Life by David Cook.

If Archuleta won, it would’ve been like “rise to stardom”  sorta thing. Cook has more of a music background. Though Archuleta does have an amazing voice. They both will come out with great albums now. It was a great show. And I loved the clips showing Simon’s disgust. 🙂 We’ll have to wait for 8 months till the next season starts.

 That’s it for now. Cyaz.

Long, much? That’s exactly it, though.

The big question( that cranial jukebox I mentioned? Is now playing the Pink Panther theme! Ha ha.) : Which David? As a stout Cook fan, it pains me to admit it but Archuleta won all three rounds last night in my opinion. He made the better choices, the songs were situational..and his voice, as always. That’s not to say I’m giving up on Cook, no siree Bob! I thought the vocals to the second song were brilliant, but it probably would have worked more in his favor had he  sung Billy Jean or Always Be My Baby, although he said this was from a wish to perform something he hadn’t, already.Anyhow I say-though I’m not paid for it(hint!hint!)!-VOTE HIM,PEOPLE,VOTE HIM!

… Because I can’t.:(

Apart from that temporary lapse to cartoon themes back there, my faithful old ‘radiohead’ seems to be jammed on The Unforgiven (II) ,Metallica.Why?Why.I do love the song, but that is unrelated.[Also: the automated dictionary on this thing says ‘unforgiven’ is not really a word. There’s my ‘learn a new thing everyday’-chore all done, then (no,not really!Weirdo.)]

Since I have always been driven to do something productive (ha ha), here’s what last night’s work yielded:

My mom wonders why I must draw these ‘strange, unearthly people’ (mucho affronted!Nahh..)*Facepalm*

I didn’t realize until I was done that I’d manage to sketch yet another One-Eyed,ah, person(by very loose definition, I grant). Thanks to xlucidsanityx for pointing this subconscious craze out.Now I can wonder just what this signifies (Again folks: NO.Not really.Gettit? Just my little joke.), specially with respect to (what remains of) my sanity..

The first of the lot, i call her One-Eyed Creep:

In other news: I’m bored.Help! Not tempting? Hmpf. There’s gratitude for ya!

Hey ppl. If you’ve been following this blog, you would’ve realized that psychoticoddity has disappeared and is now fuzzylogic2000. (Do I hear “why fuzzylogic2000?”, Plz wait)

I tried logging into my account for about one whole day and couldn’t cuz it kept popping “incorrect password.” So I just cr8ed a new one.

Fuzzylogic becuz I was thinking of those fuzzy dice (aren’t they cute?)

And now, Idol watch:

Syesha’s out. It’s a David vs. David final.

Gooooooooooo David! (Cook, he’s the one!)

And yes, the producer’s  picked a not-so-good song for Syesha. And she took her elimination pretty well, unlike Brooke White. And I must mention that I love her name. (yes, I have an obsession for names!) And Archuleta’s pick was good, like completely different. Yeah, in a way it’s not him. But it was good. David Cook was good. Vote for him, all u ppl out there!

Anyhoo, later.

Hmm…a lot of interesting (and even more, crappy!) songs there, and my mind remains unchanged.

David Archuleta:

The seventeen year-old favourite (not in my opinion, but apparently..) did justice to all of his songs.I think we’ll be seeing him, next round. However,I do not think any of his renditions anything very special.Paula Abdul picked “And So It Goes,” Billy Joel -typical,ballad-y…overall? Good performance. His own choice of Chris Brown’s “With You” was,I thought, a refreshing change from the usual but Simon took the words right out of my mouth when he declared it to be very ‘Chihuahua plays Tiger’. The last one (Producer’s choice) was (that sickening load of mush) “Longer,” by Dan Fogelberg. Now I haven’t heard the original, but from David? It was..ugh!Not that the vocals were at all bad,but honestly:

” Longer than there’ve been fishes in the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew

…Stronger than any mountain cathedral
Truer than any tree ever grew

..I’ve been in love with you.” ? ‘Nuff said,I think.Weirdos.

Syesha:

I’m just glad that so far,my Top 3 have been the Top 3.Although,like everyone else,I wish Carly had stayed longer (maybe #4 ?)and that Jason had just ‘sat around the campfire and sung the campfire song’ (Spongebob, anyone?).Right now I’m stuck for a decision between Syesha and David A.

Song List:
‘If I Ain’t Got You,” Alicia Keys (Randy’s pick) – Good one!
”Fever,” Peggy Lee – Again, she’s proved herself a pretty darn amazing singer and performer. And her vocal range,I’ve always been a fan of.I agree with Randy.Hmpf.
”Hit Me Up,” Gia Farrell– Honestly? Not lovin’ it.But, Ok.

David Cook (eeeeeeeep!OK,no..not really):

He still has my vote.Well, technically anyway- since I live in India.Sucks,no? Not really 🙂 Here’s hoping that our resident rocker doesn’t follow in Daughtry’s footsteps on this one,ah,thingy.

Song List:
‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” Roberta Flack(Simon‘s pick)- “Round one goes to Cook and Cowell..” (quoting Simon).Ha ha..is there any way I can vote Simon? Satan,I’m glad he’s back to agreeing with me.About the singing? I am trying very hard now not to sound like a frikkin’ fan girl but ‘omg,i love him’!And that, folks,is my unbiased opinion. For real.If he does not win, forget Hell, there’ll be me to pay!
”Dare You to Move,” Switchfoot -Appropriate,to quote him.Not his best, though. Not least because the original is freakin’ brilliant..
”I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” Aerosmith – Perfect.I back Paula’s prediction, and would like to direct Randy to http://www.honestlywhatsyourproblem.net.

(Also : did anyone notice how Paula didn’t just gush through it all this once? Usually, it’s all “You are so beautiful” and “I am so proud of you” regardless of the performance.Nice change.Keep it.)

So.Basically,I’m heading the Cookie Jar Cult and I’d be happy no matter who takes second.Long post, what?

I’ll be seeing ya.

‘Nite.
