untitledThe one on the left reads ‘Mr.Obvious’, for anyone who’s having trouble reading it. He’s a fellow from class. That is an anvil. The one on the right is a near-perfect copy of generalno1 (Lucid’s brother). Needless to say, these things aren’t real.Yet.

Disturbing, aren’t I?

Update:  Lucid is also currently busy not watching a show* because two of the characters aren’t seeing each other anymore. And this is my sanest form of company at college.Wouldn’t you hate my life?

*don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

wakin-dreamNo, that title is just to add a little drama, because there really is no question. It IS purgatory. Just what atrocious crimes Lucid and I have committed in  our sorry previous births, we can’t tell but they must have been unspeakably atrocious for us to deserve this thing we now must call ‘ our college’. I know what you’re thinking. Oh, big surprise. That’s what your opinion of school was like, too! But consider– Lucid, who answers to the description of  ‘pink, lighty-up bouncing ball’ is (and here I quote!) miserable, too.

We’ve only had 3 days of college thus far, so I’m being told over and over again that I need to keep an open mind etc (so, none of that in the comments, please!). The trouble is, we’ve only about 2-3 classes over an eight-hour period which is really annoying, particularly when you find that you have just spent six perfectly good hours studying the kinds of lines (dotted narrow/broad, dashed, continuous..).I wish I was kidding you. Also, some of the professors are really rubbish, which is incredibly annoying when you consider  how highly the place is rated and so on. I  won’t even start on the students (makes me miserable, and I’ve only just stopped sulking. Also: Mom will murder me if I so much as mention it again, today. And then what will you do?).

So, basically, Lucid and I are currently thankful for

1) The fact that we’re going to the same college so there’s ONE person to talk to.

OK, no.That’s it.

wakin-dreamI hope you lot have read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, because today I have been doing what I think Christopher meant by “doing groaning”.

This is creepily close to EXACTLY how I feel.

This is creepily close to EXACTLY how I feel, not to mention sodarnedcute!

WHY am I doing groaning? Because college starts tomorrow. And this is a Very Bad Thing because:

1. I can’t wake up at 10:30 a.m. anymore. In fact I have to wake up at six. If that doesn’t move you to tears, consider yourself dead inside.

2. College will most likely be rubbish because ‘sources’ tell us that the teachers are 100% pure crap (and this wouldn’t be a bad thing at all if it wasn’t for the fact that there is NOTHINGELSETODO at this college. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that I have Lucid for company, I might have shot myself by now).

3. I will be back at around 5:30 p.m. (traffic permitting). This means that I will have precisely enough time to eat and- get this- STUDY before I go to bed. This because I noticed a little clause on ‘daily evaluation’ on one of the forms I had to fill in prior to admission, meaning we’ll have to study every-damned-day.And then, it’ll be time to go to bed (which I MUST do if I want to attend the first half of the course at all.Sigh.).

So, basically, at this moment I am faced with a Decision: 1)Have A Life (or) 2)Go To College. Not that I really have a choice, of course.

4.Also: I could catch Swine Flu and DIE. (I don’t actually believe this.Anything to elongate this list, though.).

What’s even more annoying is the fact that I’ve finally written a post, the tone of which is NOT verging on desperate and WE ARE DONE WITH NaBloPoMo.

I defy you to deem this situation unworthy of doing groaning. In fact I’m of the opinion that failing to do groaning would be an unforgivable negligence of duty.

P.S. : 1.Of course, I will keep a nice positive, open mind and probably moan some more give you a less prejudiced report tomorrow.

Wish me luck.Sigh.

2. I also found this:

How true!

How true!

Ahem. I know I’m not fooling anybody. I’m so glad that the NaBloPoMo has finally come to an end. So, you don’t have to deal with our rubbish excuses for posts. Well, mostly 😉

Maybe later we’ll do a “Most desperate attempts at posting for the NaBloPoMo”. But, for now, its time to say goodbye to the frog in the sidebar!

Was there even a cause too lost,
Ever a cause that was lost too long,
Or that showed with the lapse of time too vain
For the generous tears of youth and song?

In other news, Adzzie is freaking out about how College is going to be awful even though its probably not. Also; I’ve started watching Gilmore Girls and am totally hooked. I love Luke!

Color sprinkles

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any smaller, it did.

No I’m not talking about microprocessors or micro-microprocessors.

It’s all about the smallest particles in nature. It went from molecule to atom, to protons to quarks to gluons. The quarks with their colours and the gluons with their flavours. And now it’s down to spinons and holons. Read on.

Well, yes we’ve studied about this, right from the very primitive ‘Plum-Pudding model’ by J.J. Thompson which was abandoned (1911) on both theoretical and experimental grounds in favour of the Rutherford atomic model, in which the electrons describe orbits about a tiny positive nucleus.

And then, the nucleons (protons and electrons) were said to be made of quarks. Quarks associate with one another via the strong force to make up protons and neutrons, in much the same way that the latter particles combine in various proportions to make up atomic nuclei. There are six types, or flavours, of quarks that differ from one another in their mass and charge characteristics. These six quark flavours can be grouped in three pairs: up and down, charm and strange, and top and bottom. Quarks appear to be true elementary particles; that is, they have no apparent structure and cannot be resolved into something smaller. In addition, however, quarks always seem to occur in combination with other quarks or with antiquarks, their antiparticles, to form all hadrons—the so-called strongly interacting particles that encompass both baryons and mesons.  Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) : In this theory of strong interactions, whose breakthrough ideas were published in 1973, colour has nothing to do with the colours of the everyday world but rather represents a property of quarks that is the source of the strong force.

Then came the gluons, the so-called messenger particle of the strong nuclear force, which binds subatomic particles known as quarks within the protons and neutrons of stable matter as well as within heavier, short-lived particles created at high energies. Quarks interact by emitting and absorbing gluons, just as electrically charged particles interact through the emission and absorption of photons. Like quarks, the gluons carry a “strong charge” known as colour; this means that gluons can interact between themselves through the strong force.

And now, is it really true that they split the electron? This was what was published in ‘The Times Of India’ as on 4th August 2009:
